Freeform is going dark with its newest series, Guilt.
The drama, which is scheduled to debut on June 13, follows the aftermath of what happens when an American college student studying abroad in London discovers her roommate is murdered—and she's the main suspect.
Sound familiar? Yeah, there are more than a few parallels to the real-life Amanda Knox case. (In case you were living under a rock, Knox was an American college student studying abroad in Italy who spent four years imprisoned in Italy after being convicted of murdering her roommate. She was eventually acquitted.
It's natural to draw those parallels, although Guilt was not based on the Knox case. The show follows Grace Atwood (Daisy Head), who finds her roommate, Molly, murdered after a night of partying. When she becomes the prime suspect, her sister, Natalie (Emily Tremaine) moves to London to defend her—but discovers her sister might not be as innocent as she thought.
In E! News' exclusive sneak peek of the intriguing series, you can see the police begin to have their suspicions that Grace didn't spend the night on the roof with her sexy French boyfriend like she said she did.
We also have the first look at the new show's key art. Guilt will follow the investigation as the scandal stretches all the way from underground sex clubs to the Royal Family. It also stars Billy Zane, Cristian Solimeno, Naomi Ryan, Kevin Ryan, Simona Brown, Zachary Fall and Sam Cassidy.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Anthony Stewart Head will also recur in the series as Grace and Natalie's wealthy, charming stepfather. Yes—he's the real-life father of star Daisy Head.
Check out the clip above, then tune in for the Guilt premiere on June 13 at 9 p.m. on Freeform.
